Stroke Recovery Association of BC
The SRABC is well known for its reputation as a top information centre on stroke recovery. We can provide information on many of the issues surrounding stroke from aphasia to coping with stress. If you would like more information please call us directly or with your contact information and we will send a Stroke Kit filled with resources.
Every 10 minutes a person in Canada suffers a stroke. Each year, over 1,000 stroke survivors & family members contact SRABC for stroke information and referrals to local stroke recovery branches.
Anyone can have a stroke (brain attack). It is the major disabler of adults. The Stroke Recovery Association of BC endeavours to help people with the challenge of recovering from the effects of stroke and to maintain independent living at home.
The information on this site should be of interest to:
- People recovering from stroke
- Family members, caregivers and friends
- Community service volunteers and donors
- Health practitioners and therapists serving stroke survivors
- Anyone interested in stroke prevention and treatment
Through its local Stroke Recovery branches, the Association is committed to assisting stroke survivors and their caregivers throughout the Province to improve their overall quality of life.
Objectives

This past year the North Shore has the Strides for Strokes walk to engage with members and family and community to fundraise for the branch and we would like to expand the walk to all 5 regions in British Columbia in the next year to raise awareness and funds to support branch service delivery and provide more opportunities to stroke survivers to recieve the care they need.
I thank every reader and supporter to make this a reality and welcome all donors and readers to come out next June and walk for the cuase that so dearly means so much to so many!!
is is a key area of focus for the Provincial Association.
