San Antonio is in desperate need of a new Emergency Children’s Shelter to provide more beds to displaced, abandoned and abused children.  The total number of beds available today for the entire city is less than 300.  We are grossly under-serving the needs of our most innocent and helpless children.  I plead with the faith-based citizens of San Antonio, the compassionate and loving individuals that are moved to help a child.  Senseless deaths of little children should not be happening in our great city.

They have no voice, their cries for help go unheard.  We must be their advocates, their shield of protection and their benefactors.  We, the ones that have the love of Christ in us, the ones that refuse to ignore the need, the ones that are moved to make a difference and leave a legacy.  We must answer the call to provide more beds for the children that can’t protect themselves.

To build a shelter that trains up a child in the way that they should go, in the ways and love of Jesus Christ, so that when they are old, they will not depart from it.  Years of generational violence and abuse must be broken and healed so that they can become healthy, wholesome and productive citizens.  They must learn to build loving, giving and forgiving families so that our city will be blessed with new generations of faith-filled citizens contributing productively in our neighborhoods, schools, churches and society as a whole.

Caregivers, Program Directors and Administrators are needed.  An Architect and Contractor are currently being sought.  Above all, grant writers, Legacy Sponsors, Hope Ambassadors and financial partners are needed to raise the necessary funds for this project. It has been said that any society can be judged by how it treats its weakest members.  How will God judge us individually?
