I started This Fundraiser in October of 2004 just 5 months after I lost my first baby (Connor) at 29 weeks Gestation.
Because he was stillborn on a Sunday there were no social Workers around and not alot of information on Pregnancy loss, I ended up doing research and finding a way through my grief on my own.
I found a site of a lady who started her own Campaign after she lost her baby, which inspired me to want to do somthing for our community.
I found that alot of people didn't understand how hard it was, even though my son didn't take a breath he was still wanted very much and he is still my son.
You know the saying the hardest thing is when a parent has to burrie their child... that is so true.
I needed people to understand that our children mean the world to us always, even if they never had a chance to grow up.
This is the 7th year for the fundraiser which the walk is every October. This year being October 2nd.
All the walkers meet at our local park where we collect pledges and walk around the park as well as a balloon release in memory of all the babies that have passed away.
I wanted to do this because I wanted there to be resources where couples and families didn't have to try to find it on there own. It is supplies to them and then they can read over the material when ever they like.
So far we have been able to purchase Books, Brochures, Memory Boxes, Journals, ect.. for couples and families who have had a loss either Prenatal, neonatal or so on..
There has also been items purchesed and maintained for a private room to be changed into a tranquility room, this is a room designed with things like fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle ect.. so the couple or family may have all they need in that room and not worry about leaving eachother during this hard time.
I want to Thank Everyone for helping me support this cause and for helping others through such a difficult time... For leting them know they are not alone.
