Cancer is something that will undoubtedly affect us all at one point in our lives. It could be a friend, family member, loved one, or ourselves. As many of you already know my life was forever changed this past year when I lost my mother, Nancy Ion, to this terrible disease. She was a wonderful woman who spent much of her life helping others throughout her career as a social worker and with the many charity events that she organized to help the mentally ill, homeless, underprivileged and abused women and children. My mother loved sports and all types of athletic events ( as long as it involved being outside and competition and she was there. Whether it was running for fun, downhill skiing, sailing across the pacific, playing basketball in her younger years (although her height 5’2’’greatly effected her chances at that sport), or running a Marathon, which was a life long goal of her's that she accomplished at the age of 36 which she finished top ten of her age group. She was always my biggest fan when it came to baseball any other sport that i was involved in, so I thought what better way to honor her life than to run in the A1A Marathon in Ft. Lauderdale on February 17, 2008 to raise money for Cancer Research. This combines the two things that she was so passionate about, charity work and athletics. That is where you come in! I am asking for your support in this cause and sponsor me for this Marathon. All the money raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society in my mother’s name. This Organization is dedicated to helping people affected by cancer and to one-day finding a cure. Remember that’s 26.2 miles I well be running so every dollar you give will help me get to the finish line. I Thank all of you for your Love and Support.
Help Me Make This A Big Success!!!
