          The name "Dasig" is a cebuano dialect that means "empowered".  Hence, the foundation is known as Dasig Foundation.  This foundation organized and facilitated by Bukidnon State University Alumni Batch 84 is intended for the empowerment of poor families located in Bukidnon, Philippines.

           It is our hope and dream that poor parents with their children be empowered to become their own source of strength. This will be done by first helping them to meet their basic needs sufficiently through livelihood programs.  Through Education, and Psycho-Spiritual Formation, parents with their children will be helped to discover their inner spiritual, psychological, intellectual and physical potentials to become an empowered families who are an asset to the community they belong to and to the whole world.
